(SPOT.ph) Heads up, commuters! Metro Manila's train lines will be adjusting operating hours in light of the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations. Expect slight changes in the schedule starting December 16, 2024 to January 1, 2025.
DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista explained that the schedule adjustments are designed to accommodate more commuters as the holiday nears.
"On select days, our trains will operate earlier in the morning and later into the night to offer greater convenience to passengers during the holiday season," Bautista said in a statement. "These adjustments will also allow our rail employees more time to spend with their families as they celebrate the holidays."
Make sure to schedule those holiday shopping, family gatherings, and other festive activities properly if you want to catch the last train home.
LRT-1 operating hours are extended on regular weekdays but shortened on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Holidays like December 25 and December 30 follow the standard holiday schedule.
